As
in any major western city, one can find
every kind of hotel from fantastic places
with 5 Star service, to the Youth Hostel
dormitory ...And everything in between.
There
are almost 41,000 hotel and hostel beds
available in Amsterdam, about 51% of
which are in 4 -and 5-star hotels. These
numbers are impressive, but lots of time
during the year every bed can easily
be filled.
Book
your reservation early if you want
to get what you are looking for.
Our
city has been acting in recent years to
redress the balance in favor of hotels
in the mid- and low-priced categories,
but it is inevitably a slow process. Since
1999, around 10,000 new beds have been added
and most of these have been in the targeted
categories.
If
a particular accommodation strikes
your fancy but is out of your price
range, it may pay to inquire if special
off-season, weekend, specific weekday,
or other packages may be available.
